Yingling Aviation Named Authorized Lycoming Engine Service Center

July 27, 2009—Yingling Aviation, Inc. has been selected as a new Authorized Service Center for Lycoming Engines, a division of Textron, Inc., headquartered in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The designation indicates that Yingling is approved to sell, install and provide regular and warranty services on Lycoming’s complete line of reciprocating engines, including the company’s two most recently announced powerplants, the IE2, which features electronic controls, and the IO-233 LSA, designed specifically for light sport aircraft applications.

“Yingling Aviation has a long, solid reputation for representing a variety of aviation sales and service providers and we are extremely pleased to add this designation as a Lycoming Authorized Service Center to that list,” noted Lynn Nichols, Yingling’s president. “We have been providing service and maintenance on Cessna aircraft throughout our history as the longest-running Cessna affiliate, including the numerous models powered by Lycoming engines. We expect this relationship will expand business opportunities for both companies,” he added.

“By identifying and working with shops that meet or exceed our standards prior to the actual launch of these two new products, we are building a quality customer support network of dependable, honest, competent and professional service providers that will be known for its technical capability and the highest standards in the industry,” said Mike Everhart, Lycoming’s Director, Distribution Management & Customer Service. “Yingling has demonstrated that it provides responsive, courteous attention, accurate information, and competitive pricing to its customers and we look forward to working with them throughout the entire purchase, delivery, installation, and flight testing process to ensure that our customers receive Lycoming-approved attention. That dedication will continue with after-the sale information, service support and warranty assistance, too,” he noted.

Lycoming is headed to the Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin with a full payload of products, including the iE2 and IO-233-LSA. The IO-233-LSA display drew rave reviews in Europe at Aero Friedrichshafen 2009. A near constant stream of visitors showed great interest in the engine’s mogas capabilities and advanced technology. Lycoming will also host an additional program on alternative fuels at EAA Airventure 2009.
