Summary of Accountabilities
This intern position will assist in the repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of airframes, engine systems, parts and components.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Intern will assist in the repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of airframes, engine systems, parts and components
- Assist mechanics with variety of mechanical duties on various aircraft models involving diagnosis of repair and rework to various aircraft systems to prepare aircraft for customer delivery
- Utilize equipment such as tensiometers, micrometers, pressure gauges, dial gauges, vacuum gauges, and a variety of hand tools to assist mechanics with repairing aircraft
- Perform general cleaning and organizing of service center facilities
- Help perform cleaning and routine maintenance checks
- Work in accordance with established safety practices including proper use of personal protective equipment; maintain a neat and orderly work area
- Any other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Requires high school education and individual must be working towards their A&P certification
- Received A License
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Provide own hand tools
- Interact with customer in a professional manner
- Collaborates and easily gets along in team-based environments
- Current Valid driver’s license
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Security Badge through the local airport authority
- Must be reliable, on time and work required schedule without deviations
- Possess the ability to retain information
- Basic computer skills
Communication Skills
Must be able to read and speak English. Must be able to communicate effectively with other personnel.
Physical Requirements
- No restrictions on kneeling, climbing, stooping, crawling, stretching and bending
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without limitations
Work Environment
- Exposed to aircraft engine noise
- Exposed to extreme heat or cold
