Summary of Accountabilities

This intern position will assist in learning fabrication and installation of avionic and cabin electrical system wiring and components.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interns will learn to tag, crimp, and build wiring harnesses
  • Properly identify (tag) and store customer property and equipment
  • Use wire-stamping machines to apply numbers to wires
  • Read and understand wiring diagrams
  • Help build wire harnesses on the bench
  • Help install wire harnesses in aircraft. Route and terminate wires. Tie-wrap, protect and clamp wire bundles
  • Wire subassemblies (entertainment, annunciator assemblies, lavatory, fuel control panels, etc.)
  • Become familiar with technical reference materials. Learn how to find information
  • Help perform cleaning and routine wiring checks
  • Work in accordance with established safety practices including proper use of personal protective equipment; maintain a neat and orderly work area
  • Any other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Requires high school education and individual must be working towards their Avionics Certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Provide own hand tools
  • Interact with customer in a professional manner
  • Collaborates and easily gets along in team-based environments
  • Current Valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Security Badge through the local airport authority
  • No restrictions on kneeling, climbing, stooping, crawling, stretching and bending
  • Must be reliable, on time and work required schedule without deviations
  • Possess the ability to retain information
  • Basic computer skills

Communication Skills

Must be able to read and speak English. Must be able to communicate effectively with other personnel.

Physical Requirements

  • No restrictions on kneeling, climbing, stooping, crawling, stretching and bending
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without limitations

Work Environment

  • Exposed to aircraft engine noise
  • Exposed to extreme heat or cold
