Systems and Network Administrator

Summary of Accountabilities

Installs, configures, and troubleshoots computer networks and associated assemblies. Provides operational, monitoring, support, analysis, and systems administration.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provide IT support for all systems in production areas including support for printers, networking, and all computer/workstations, phones, security cameras & access controls
  2. Maintain, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, and reconfigurations
  3. Research and address IT security vulnerabilities in a manner that protects company assets but allows user to remain productive
  4. Configure, install, and manage routers/switches, firewalls, and proxies within the network
  5. Monitor the system daily and respond to security or usability concerns
  6. Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and all hardware
  7. Troubleshoots infrastructure, network, and software problems in a timely and accurate manner
  8. Implementing operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system
  9. Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
  10. Perform network and security audits
  11. Manage communications and connection solutions, including workstation connectivity, local area networks, intranet, and internet applications
  12. Participate in negotiations with vendors, outsourcing companies and contractors to secure hardware and software products and services
  13. Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for system administration and appreciate use
  14. Develop IT strategic structure plan to support company growth

Education and Experience

Four-year college degree in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent job experience.

Five plus years’ experience with basic desktop and server administration required

Office 365 administration experience required

Communication Skills

Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write clear, concise correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.  Good grammar and spelling skills.

Additional Requirements or Skills

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent for financial statistics.  Must be able to explain financial statements etc.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

Fluent in MS office applications including word, excel, access, and Microsoft outlook. Must be able to adapt to new software easily.
